In 1955 B. A. Kesler started Kesler Tire Service primarily to service truck tires. Working out of his home, the business grew to include sales of new truck tires as well as retreads.
In 1957 his brother, Hoyt Kesler, joined the company. Together they became incorporated and moved their business to the present location: 1520 Atlanta Highway in Gainesville, Georgia. With a building, a service truck, and a telephone they began installing equipment to manufacture retreads. Retreading was, and continues to be, a cornerstone of the business.
Passenger tires were added to the line along with a new building equipped to service cars and trucks. This became the alignment shop, even though everything from radiators to tail pipes can be repaired there. Kesler Tire has experienced technicians that are certified under the Automotive Service Excellence program. Vehicle repair and maintenance has grown to form another cornerstone of the business.
In 1980 B. A. and Hoyt retired after 25 years of service. This anniversary brought Leon, Gary, and Phillip to the front office. Having grown up learning the business from the ground up, it was a natural transition into management for the three of them.
In 1986 Kesler Tire became a Bandag franchise. This enabled them to retread tires using Bandag products and their superior process.
2005 marked the fiftieth anniversary of Kesler Tire and Alignment. For fifty years Kesler Tire remains a family owned and operated business and has served Gainesville and northeast Georgia.
